Double Exposure is a presentation of Opera Philadelphia’s Opera from the Lab initiative and features works in progress by composers-in-residence Lembit Beecher and Missy Mazzoli. Missy presents two scenes from Breaking the Waves, with libretto by Royce Vavrek, based on the 1996 film by Lars von Trier. Lembit presents a scene from his recently premiered work I Have No Stories To Tell You, with libretto by Hannah Moscovitch, and “Sunny View,” a scene from his yet-untitled opera focusing on the experiences of a man with Alzheimer’s disease, with a libretto by Anisa George. Each scene will be presented twice, with different directors, cast and staging. The directors are Daniel Fish and Stephanie Havey.
